1980
GM Program Management Launch
Kem Krest manages ad-hoc chemical and accessory programs for General Motors Service and Parts Organization (GMSPO).
1990
GM Full Program Management Awarded
Kem Krest awarded all General Motors service chemicals in the United States.


1992
GM Canada Programs
Kem Krest awarded GM Canada Chemical Distribution.
1993
Awarded GM Supplier of the Year
Kem Krest is awarded GM Supplier of the Year. This award is reserved for suppliers that distinguish themselves by going above and beyond General Motor’s requirements..

Amish Shah Joins Kem Krest
Amish Shah joins Kem Krest after graduating from Indiana University. (Amish began his career in an outside sales position, becoming manager of the Quality Department by 1997, and President by 2000.)


1998
Achieved QS9000 Certification
Kem Krest was one of the first fulfillment companies to become QS9000 certified.
2004
Mays Canada Acquisition
Kem Krest acquires Mays Canada.


2005
APG Sells to KCP
APG (including Kem Krest) sells to KCP (KIK Products).
2006
BKD Indiana Excellence Award
Kem Krest awarded the BKD Indiana Excellence Award which recognizes business excellence.


2008
Amish Shah Purchases Kem Krest
Amish Shah purchases Kem Krest from KIK with 175,000 square feet of warehouse space at 4 locations, employing 35 full time associates.
2009
Headquarters Relocated
Kem Krest Headquarters moves from the KIK facility on Superior Street in Elkhart to a new facility on Toledo Road.
NEW PROGRAMS AWARDED
Kem Krest is awarded Hyundai Chemicals and launches Valspar. Next comes Nissan and significant growth in General Motors Accessories business.
NEW 5 YEAR STRATEGY IMPLEMENTATION
Kem Krest creates a new 5 year strategy with specific focus to service only OEM’s in Automotive, Agriculture and Powersports industries.
ESTABLISHED KEM KREST DEFENSE
Kem Krest Defense was created to service the Defense industry.

Excelda Manufacturing Acquisition
Excelda Manufacturing was founded in 1930, headquartered in Brighton, Michigan. Specializing in product development, blending, packaging and fulfillment helps Kem Krest service a wide variety of industries around the globe.


2016
Unified Solutions, Inc. Acquisition
Unified Solutions Inc., headquartered in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, provides packaging services that include shrink wrapping, automated bagging and multiple component kit assembly.
2017
FCA Chemicals Launch
Kem Krest is awarded and launches Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Chemicals program.


2018
Kem Krest Continues to Grow
Kem Krest has 1,500,000 square feet of warehouse space, 450 full time associates, and over 100 temporary workers that all help to service 30+ customers.
2021
KEM KREST AWARDED GM SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR
General Motors recognized Kem Krest as a 2021 Supplier of the Year. GM celebrated honorees at its 30th annual Supplier of the Year awards ceremony.

2022
Stellantis Supplier Diversity Excellence Award
Kem Krest is awarded the Stellantis Supplier Diversity Excellence Award in the Aftermarket Purchasing Division.
2023
HEAVY-DUTY ACQUISITION
Kem Krest acquired Telamon’s heavy-duty division, located in Carmel, Indiana, to strengthen and expand its capabilities into more complex assembly and kitting in the heavy-duty space.
